What does not spoil anything, there's a bonus (critical commentary of the film by the producer) which is worth the detour.. Annette Bening in Mrs. Mertueil plays remarkably this beautiful, perverse and manipulative. The sets, the costumes are sumptuous. We enjoy until the film takes big liberties with the ending. Here, I prefer the treatment of Stephen Frears ' more faithful to the novel. This end of Valmont appears to me to be sloppy and inconsistent. It is acceptable for those who do not know the book, but for me it is really disappointing. No sub-titles for the aliens and it is a shame! Ca should not exist of the DVD without any subtitles. I bought this series in memory of the good old time and I do not regret it at all it matches my expectation. Very nice movie. The Tim Burton pure strain.... Everything is beautiful in this film, the actors, the music, the scenery, and the emotion is present until the last second. Wonderful....
